When specialized care is needed for days rather than hours, a more versatile unit is necessary, and depending upon the size and function of the hospital, there may be one or many intensive care sections. Intensive care unit where specially trained personnel were able of offer the best in monitoring, moment-to-moment observation, prompt identification of need and appropriate response. As a result centralization of personnel and equipment has been associated with reduction of hospital mortality and morbidity.
Here, the subject of acidosis and alkalosis in trend of the newer calculation method which is a simple formula to measure the value of acid-base disturbance has been discussed. Now the physician should be able to diagnose and treat patient with acid-base disturbances.
